9th Asian Petanque Championship

第9回アジアペタンク選手権が10月28 - 30日、日本の熊谷で行われた。アジアとオセアニアから8カ国が参加した。アジアの最強国タイは男子・女子トリプレット選手権を共に制した。中国の男子チームはすばらしいポワンテのパフォーマンスで驚かせたばかりか、本命のタイチームにとって再度のプレッシャーとなった決勝戦へとすすんだ。決勝：タイ15 - 中国11。日本チームは男子・女子ともに一回戦の後、敗退した。シンガポールチームは男女ともにネイションズ・カップで優勝した。 男子ティール・コンテストは現世界チャンピオンであるタイのフサ・アドが40 - 50点という高得点を出して優勝した。女子ティール・コンテストでもタイのタマコード選手が決勝戦で37点のハイスコアーで優勝した。

The 9th Asian Petanque Championship was held at Kumagaya, Japan on October 28 - 30. Eight countries from Asia and the Oceania region participated in the event. Thailand, the petanque power-house in Asian, won both titles in the men and women triplet competition. The mens team from China surprised with an excellent pointing-game performance and even managed to reach the final where the team again was able to put some pressure on the favorite Thai team. Final: Thailand - China 15:11. Both men and women teams from Japan failed to qualify past the first round. The teams from Singapore won both titles in the Nations Cup.
The mens shooting competition was won by the present world champion from Thailand Phusa-Ad who again regularly scored high points in the 40 to 50 points range during the tournament. The women's shooting title also went to the Thai player Thamakord with a high 37 score in the final round.
